Converting your ESA canine's age in human years - 2022 Guide​

Have you ever wondered how old your dog is? Like not in dog years. Like in human years. Have you ever been struck with wonder, watching your dog do things that you never thought were possible for their young age? Or their small size? Honestly, that happens to me a lot so apply for an emotional support animal letter.



This is exactly why I have come up with a way to calculate the age of a dog in human years. You might be wondering “How long do dogs live?” And the answer to that is around 10 to 13 years. In dog years of course. But what about in human years?







Do dogs live up to 70, 80 years too?



Let’s find out!



1 Dog Year =/= 7 Human Years



Yeah! That formula doesn’t work.



Many people used to believe that one dog year is equal to 7 human years but unfortunately, science has proven this to be incorrect.



Of course, to do so, you will need to be diagnosed with a mental illness. Then you will need an ESA letter to make things official. After that, it’s a breeze. You can always stay in the company of your beloved dog.



So, your one-year-old dog is definitely not like a 7-year-old kid.



Nope! Sorry.



The Actual Formula



Now, this formula comes from the American Veterinary Medical Association so it is the most accurate one we have.



It has 3 main points.



Year One of dog life is like 15 human years.



Year Two is like one year for them and nine years for us.



From Year Three onwards, it’s one human year equalling 5 dog years.



So, according to this complicated statement, I made a formula.



Formula: 15+9+5(dog_age - 2)



Note: The minus 2 is for the two years that we have already taken into account in the beginning.



Now, THAT is how you calculate your dog’s human age.



Let’s have a look at an example, shall we?



Example!



Suppose your dog is old! This means that he is like 13 in dog years. He has joint pains and needs CBD oil for dogs to keep him nice and calm. So, how do you calculate his human age?



Lemme show you.



We have the formula so we substitute.



15+9+5(13-2)



His age is 13. We minus 2 from that and get 11. Now multiply that with 5 and get 55.



Now, we add 9 into it and get 64 and then add 15 to get 79.



SEVENTY-NINE! WOAH.



Your dog is OLD, man. NO wonder he needs all those oils.



Note again: If you are wondering why I am calculating like a psycho then know that I used BODMAS. This means that I solved the portion in the brackets first and then did the rest of the math.



How is this helpful?



I mean, isn’t it?



Now that you know how old your dog is, you know how to take care of them.



It’s hard to take care of a 13-year-old dog but now that you know that he is like 79, you will take special care of the baby.



You will know that they will need medicines and a proper diet to keep them fit and healthy.



Really! This information works to our benefit.



So, is your dog an ESA?



If it is then great!



If not, then why don’t you make it an esa letter for housing? It will make life easier for you.





But! It’s getting the letter that’s a bit problematic.
